We tend to see shares in purely financial terms (read the financial pages of any newspaper to check whether this is true) but a real shareholding involves sharing genuine value that both the owner and shareholder believe exists in an organisation.
This could be many things one of which is money, but could also include time, space, services, assets, knowledge, democracy, expertise and many many other things.
Shareholders and owners need to think more carefully about the value of organisations, particularly at the moment (when they may need to change and adapt). What is the true value of an/this/your organisation?
